Digital services are playing a more and more important role in the telecommunications industry. That shift to digital brings opportunities to be more flexible, and to save time and resources in launching new services on the market. Most innovative technologies, such as network virtualization (network virtualization function, or NVF enable networks to be altered and adjusted easily, without the need to change hardware infrastructure. Concepts such as self-organizing network (SON) are a big step towards automating network operations, thanks to which a network may self-optimize and self-heal by monitoring all the changes and problems and reacting to them in real time.
Heavy investment in new network technologies mean telco companies also need to increase revenue. To achieve this, it is crucial to establish positive customer experience so as to ensure clients’ loyalty and avoid losing them to competitors. Additionally, operators need to launch new kinds of services to keep up with constantly changing expectations of customers and the market.
These kinds of challenges will be discussed during the next OSS/BSS workshops organized by Comarch in Warsaw for telecom operators.
